TechKno Academy, run by the MEMa Foundation, is a nonprofit that teaches underserved teens storytelling through making short films, documentaries, and music videos; from idea development through production and postproduction.

For 14 years we’ve trained more than 500 young people and connected them with industry professionals for hands-on music and video projects, internships, and career workshops.

Started as MEMa Studio in 2012, we expanded into TechKno Camp (a six-week summer program) and TechKno Academy (a ten-week semester program) in 2018.

Students receive practical, career-focused training in music and film production, studio techniques, teamwork, and real-world learning that extends beyond the classroom.

We now offer TechKno Academy: Music & Film and TechKno Academy: Film Sound Design, with additional programs coming soon; Broadcast Engineering, Film Scoring, Live Sound, Stage Management, and Theatrical Lighting and Rigging.
